AND Capital Ventures Concludes Builder’s Summit, Advances Fund I and M&A Strategy
Three-day Calgary summit delivered binding decisions on governance, fundraising roadmap, and M&A practice launch despite winter weather challenges.
"This summit delivered exactly what we needed: binding decisions, clear owners, and concrete 90-day action plans across every pillar of the platform. We leave Calgary with the operational foundation to execute Fund I and scale the M&A practice with confidence."
CALGARY, ALBERTA, CANADA, February 20, 2026 - AND Capital Ventures (“AND Capital”) has concluded its inaugural Builder’s Summit in Calgary, Alberta, a three-day strategic planning event that produced binding decisions on corporate governance, Fund I execution, and the operationalization of the firm’s M&A advisory practice.
The summit brought together AND Capital co-founders Teruel Carrasco and Rod Heard, AND Capital COO Jennifer Sethre, 3AC Capital partners Loren Brink and Dr. Denise Brown, and Next Chapter Advisory Group partners Ewing Gillaspy, Mark DeChant, and Chris Rex at the firm’s headquarters on the 28th floor of The Edison, 150 9th Ave SW, Calgary.
Day 0: Future of AI is NOW
The week kicked off on February 16 with “Future of AI is NOW,” a 90-minute session on new ways of working with AI led by Chris Rex alongside Daniel Liebeskind. The session set the tone for the week by exploring how AI tools can accelerate operational workflows across fund management and deal execution.
Day 1: Platform, Structure & Governance
The first full day focused on how AND Capital and 3AC Capital will operate together. Key outcomes included finalizing the corporate structure and partnership agreement, approving the Investment Committee governance framework and voting procedures, and establishing the operating cadence and meeting rhythm through Q3 2026.
Day 2: Fund I, LP Raise, KPIs & Reporting
Day two shifted from structure to capital execution. The team aligned on Fund I strategy and positioning, mapped the LP universe and anchor LP engagement strategy, designed the KPI dashboard with clear owners and data sources, and built a detailed execution roadmap to First Close.
Day 3: M&A Practice Build & Go-Live
The final day operationalized the mid-market M&A advisory practice. Sessions covered the M&A operating model and team roles, pipeline sourcing channels and 12-month revenue targets, deal execution workflows, and integration with Fund I deal flow. The summit closed with team presentations of committed 90-day action plans and post-summit deliverables.
Calgary winter conditions prevented the planned excursion to Banff; the team adapted and maintained focus at The Edison throughout the week. All sessions were recorded with portable audio equipment for team reference, an initiative led by Mark DeChant to ensure key decisions and context are preserved.
“This summit delivered exactly what we needed: binding decisions, clear owners, and concrete 90-day action plans across every pillar of the platform,” said Teruel Carrasco, Co-Founder and CEO of AND Capital. “We leave Calgary with the operational foundation to execute Fund I and scale the M&A practice with confidence.”
